During this time of economic turmoil President Obama revealed that he's written checks from his personal account to help Americans who've written to the White House for help. The President admitted that although this is something that he probably shouldn't be advertising, he says that it has happened. The White House declined to comment on the process or what causes he's directly helped out with, but several people who've received personal letters from Obama have put the correspondence up for sale. A single mother in Indiana hoped to save herself from eviction by selling her personal letter from Obama for thousands of dollars. Obama explained that writing a check or making a phone call aids in alleviating the powerlessness that he feels from reading the letters that flood his office. "Some of these letters you read and you say, 'Gosh, I really want to help this person, and I may not have the tools to help them right now'. And then you start thinking about the fact that for every one person that wrote describing their story, there might be another hundred thousand going through the same thing. So there are times when I'm reading the letters and I feel pained that I can't do more, faster, to make a difference in their lives."

Sarah Silverman is set to go after Republican presidential candidate and Governer of Texas Rick Perry. The comedian/tv actress is planning a provocatively titled live comedy show in Texas titled "Live From Ni**erhead: Stripping The Paint Off Of Good Ol' Fashioned Racism." The title refers to the controversy over Perry's hunting campground where the candidate has entertained friends and supporters. The campground's former name, "Ni**erhead", was painted on a rock at the entrance for many years. "This is a never-forget moment," Silverman said. "The show's provocative name holds a mirror up to an ugliness that seems to have become yesterday's news without having barely even made news." The show will be held at the Paramount Theater in Austin on Nov. 1. Silverman plans to donate all proceeds to the NAACP. Asked about the mocking use of the N word in the title, Silverman said, "The positive thing about N-head and other outwardly racist actions — like trying to put the Confederate f**king flag on Texas license plates — is that it's no longer just a gas in the air. It's something you can point to. It's something you can fight against and expose. So I see this as an opportunity that should be taken." What do you think of her choice of title?

Some of the biggest names in NBA have entered in to a contract phase to play in a six-game, four-continent exhibition tour. It has been reported that fourteen of the eighteen players approached have signed the contract and the remaining four will sign in the near future. Some of the players expected to play include Derrick Rose, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. Their salaries are expected to range from six figures up to $1 million. The tour will start on October 30th in Puerto Rico and include two games in London, one in Macau and two, back-to-back, in Australia.

Jackson initiated the conversation by pointing in Haley's direction, but Haley looked away to avoid the situation all together. Some Atlanta Falcons players were outraged after they claim that Detroit Lions players defensive linemen Ndamukong Suh and Cliff Avril taunted quarterback Matt Ryan, following what seemed to be a serious leg injury. Falcons center Todd McClure and receiver Roddy White both claimed that both Suh and Avril slammed Ryan after his leg was smashed by lineman Will Svitek. According to other Falcons players, Avril kicked Ryans feet and mocked Ryan by calling for trainers to cart him off the field. Wide receiver Roddy White spoke out about the incident, saying "I lost a whole lot of respect for 90 [Suh] today, and also 92 [Cliff Avril], the [expletive] they were doing when Matt got hurt," White told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "That was unacceptable. ... Like 92 was kicking [Ryan's] feet, saying, 'Get him off the field.' We don't do stuff like that. ... When you compete, you never want to see a guy get hurt."
