Harris expressed concern that "an overly broad federal enforcement campaign will make it more difficult for legitimate patients to access physician-recommended medicine in California." Despite the fact that the feds said they want to shut down dispensaries near schools and other areas involving children, on October 13, federal agents with weapons brandished raided Northstone Organics a Mendocino collective that was in full compliance with all laws and is described as California's most successful legally regulated medical cannabis cultivation program. Furthermore, Harris opined that the inconsistencies in Prop 215, which legalized medical marijuana in California in 1996, must be amended either by the state legislature or the court system, not via federal prosecution. Harris is serving her first year as Attorney General and was previously the District Attorney for San Francisco for seven years, one of the leading medical marijuana centers in the Golden State, with over two-dozen dispensaries. Harris's official statement was in response to media requests following the October 7 press conference by the four U.S. Attorneys for California that announced plans for an escalated federal crackdown on medical marijuana. The man had been begging in that spot for years, rattling an old tin can hoping that passers-by would feel compassion and offer alms. Yet, at the end of each day he would only have collected one or two rupees, barely enough to buy a dry chapati and a cup of sweet chai. One day a wise man approached. Witnessing the beggar's plight he called out, "My man, why are you wasting your days begging in this way? If you dig right where you are, you will discover great treasure!" Desperate about his impoverished situation and intrigued by this idea, the beggar decided to take the wise man's advice. Using his bare hands he began digging the earth under where he had been sitting. To his utter amazement the beggar discovered a huge bag of rare, gold coins. Dancing with joy he declared, "Had I realized I was sitting on top of great wealth I could have eased my suffering years ago!" I was once like the beggar, always seeking ways to fill the empty bowl of my perceived lack, believing that if I worked and saved hard enough I would ensure financial security. However, on October 6th 2008, the bubble of that illusion burst when my husband and I discovered our bank had dramatically collapsed. When man communes with his soul within, the forgotten times and powers of the deathless Self will come back into his consciousness. Meditation means to remember that one is not a mortal body but an immortal soul, one with God. The proximity of happiness is as close as one’s own Self; it isn’t even a matter of attaining, but only of lifting the soul-shrouding veil of ignorance. The very word “attaining” implies something one wants but does not have − a metaphysical error. Bliss is the irrevocable divine birthright of every soul. Meditate. As soon as you take away the ripples of sensations from the lake of the mind, God’s heavenly bliss bursts forth from the soul. His bliss is already there, but it is hidden within you. The more you meditate the more you will feel the endless joy of God…. Form the habit of meditation. It is the only way to find everlasting happiness of the soul; and when you have that, nothing else matters. Even though you may be able to do everything else but meditate, you will never find joy to equal that which comes when the thoughts are silent and your mind is tuned to the peace of God. If you ask, “How do I know there is such joy as you describe?” this is my testimony: if you practice meditation every day, deeply and consistently, you will find that ever-existing, ever-conscious, ever-new joy, ever increasingly manifest within you. And with practice it will stay with you in activity and in silence alike − even in sleep. It is a joy that will constantly guide you to right action in everything and will respond to your prayers. You have to demonstrate that for yourself. And this is my further testimony: that, once God’s joy has been found, all desires for other gain will dwindle in comparison. Your consciousness will expand. You will be able to stand unshaken amidst jarring trials. The whole world will not be able to lure you to forsake the bliss that you will find in meditation. You will enjoy all other things in that divine joy. Its one of those words that has many images attached to it: of a person smiling, sitting cross-legged with their middle finger touching their thumb. And If you met me three years ago. I was on my way to that crazy train. Okay, maybe not that extreme. But either way – I saw meditation as a my quick-fix solution. I viewed it as a way to find complete peace, stillness, awakening and extreme opening. I found meditation my first year of college. Like many people I turned to spirituality because I didn't know what else to do. I was fresh out of a serious relationship of several years. That same year I had five friends die from various forms of accidents or suicide. My mother was hit with the big-C: breast cancer. And I was "diagnosed" with depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress. Which let me tell you – was not the case. Yes, I had nightmares. Yes, I felt broken and lost without my ex. Yes, I woke up and called people that were dead. Yes, I was in a new place and was experiencing ongoing episodes of extreme anxiety. Yes, I wasn't sleeping. Since April the state has been serving prisoners just two meals a day on weekends in some prisons, in an effort to cut food service costs, the New York Times reports. (Amusingly, the meal that is served between 5am and 7am is called brunch.) That puts the state out-of-step with American Correctional Association guidelines, which recommend three meals per day, with some variations allowed. But "I've never read the standard to mean you can do it every weekend," the head of the Association says. Texas law requires county inmates to be fed "three times in any 24-hour period," but has no such protection for state prisoners. Prison officials say there are no legal issues with the program, and that they consulted health officials and dieticians before making the change. Besides, one state senator says, "If they don't like the menu, don't come here in the first place." Most American prisons serve three meals a day, but Texas isn’t entirely alone. The state also recently did away with the practice of granting last meals to death row inmates. Mayor Bloomberg and the FBI know that nothing will change the mood of support for Occupy Wall Street faster than having them portrayed as a “violent mob.” So, there have been ongoing incidents of what appear to be provocations by the police or infiltrators to create an image of an unruly group of lawbreakers. (Just remember the Brooklyn Bridge incident for one.) BuzzFlash at Truthout warned of this likely ongoing effort in a commentary on October 4, “The NYPD and FBI Are Trying to Infiltrate Wall Street Protest to Discredit It: Of This You Can Be Sure.” Among the recurring reports of police infiltration and provocateurs is an account today of the incident that led to the NYPD arrest of more than 20 protesters trying to close their Citibank accounts over the weekend. One of the persons arrested at the Citibank branch, Marshall Garrett, told the Village Voice: But what was unknown to us and to a lot of people that day, including those in Times Square, was that there were undercover cops already there, paid to be disruptive and to be loud. One undercover cop present [at Citi] was louder than the entire group. He arrested one of the protestors outside, and slammed her into the wall, and pushed her back into the bank. We all saw him at the precinct with us. He was laughing with the fellow white shirt cops, telling them about what we’d been saying, basically. It was a bit startling how inside their information was – how they were being paid to go to these protests and put us in situations where we’d be arrested and not be able to leave. In fact, you can see one of the undercover police officer provocateurs in this alarming video. Watch through to the point where this plainclothes NYPD cop arrests a young woman, who is a Citibank customer, for merely being outside the bank branch because she was involved in the protest, but not inside the branch building. It is quite chilling indeed. Four or five NYPD officers just make the woman disappear. The biggest challenge for Occupy Wall Street will be to uproot covert efforts to discredit the movement by law enforcement agencies that are supposed to protect the Constitution instead of subverting it. The New York Times noted of the video, which was quickly broadcast on CNN and Al Jazeera English, “The man’s injuries and clothing match those of the man said to be Colonel Qaddafi who appeared to be dead in video that emerged online earlier on Thursday.” The man, who bears an incredible resemblance to Qaddafi, appears bloody and terrified but still well enough to walk. He is surrounded by a tight crowd of screaming, angry, armed young men. But do sociological consequences follow? Organ printing offers help to those in need of immediate organ transplants and other emergency situations, but it also pushes the medical establishment towards utilizing artificial biology as an immediate means of treatment over sound nutrition and preventative treatment. The hasty technological advancement towards organ printing is offering surgery-happy medical establishments even more ways to use invasive medical practices. The creation process of artificial tissue is a complex and expensive process. In order to build 3D structures such as a kidney or lung, a printer is used to assemble cells into whichever shape is wanted. For this to happen, the printer creates a sheet of bio-paper which is cell-friendly. Afterwards, it prints out the living cell clusters onto the paper. After the clusters are placed close to one another, the cells naturally self-organize and morph into more complex tissue structures. The whole process is then repeated to add multiple layers with each layer separated by a thin piece of bio-paper. Eventually, the bio-paper dissolves and all of the layers become one. To get a further understanding of the methodology, it is important to understand the current challenges that go along with 'printing' artificial organs to be used in human bodies. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | VigilantCitizen The Order of the Illuminati is often at the center of debates about the impact of secret societies on human history. That number, up from just 36 percent in 2006, marks a record high and could have significant implications for candidates on the campaign trail, advocates say. Republican presidential candidate Gary Johnson has already come out in favor of legalizing marijuana, announcing on Wednesday that he would even consider issuing a full presidential pardon for anyone serving a prison sentence for a nonviolent marijuana crime. Such pardons are part of what he envisions as a broader “rational drug policy.” “Pot smokers may be the largest untapped voting bloc in the country,” he said in an interview with Outside Magazine. “A hundred million Americans have smoked marijuana. You think they want to be considered criminals?” Though Johnson has been excluded from recent GOP debates and polls show he garners less than 1 percent of the national vote, recent surveys suggest that, if current trends persist, legalization of marijuana could indeed become a hot-button topic by election 2016. Support for legalization is as high as 62 percent among Americans under the age of 30, and Gallup has found that Americans are especially likely to favor legalizing marijuana for medicinal purposes. According to a Gallup survey last year, 70 percent favored making it legal for doctors to prescribe marijuana to reduce pain and suffering. They are also less aggressive. Until now, most psychologists have viewed anger as a way to signal your displeasure when another person does you harm. Similarly, gratitude has been seen as a signal of pleasure when someone does you a favour. In both cases, emotions are seen as short-term reactions to an immediate benefit or cost. DeWall proves his point with five studies on gratitude as a trait and as a fleeting mood, discovering that giving thanks lowers daily aggression, hurt feelings and overall sensitivity. But it’s more cunning than that, says John Tooby, an evolutionary psychologist at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Anger, he says, has as much to do with cooperation as with conflict, and emotions are used to coerce others into cooperating in the long term. "If you count your blessings, you're more likely to empathize with other people," said the researcher who is more well-known for studying factors that increased aggression. "More empathic people are less aggressive." Gratitude motivates people to express sensitivity and concern for others and stimulates pro-social behavior, according to DeWall. Although gratitude increases mental well-being, it was unknown whether gratitude reduced aggression. DeWall and his colleagues conducted cross-sectional, longitudinal, experience sampling, and experimental studies with more than 900 undergraduate students to show that gratitude is linked to lower aggression. "We tried to triangulate on this phenomenon in as many different ways as we could," said DeWall, who tested the effects of gratitude both inside and outside of the lab. The study, found in Social Psychological and Personality Science, links gratitude to "a nonviolent heart," with those less inclined to aggression. This staggering new estimate comes from senior Libyan officials and seems to be legitimate, according to the LA Times. How did he get so rich? "King of Kings" Qaddafi had uncontested personal control over the largest oil reserves in Africa for the past 41 years. What money Qaddafi did spend went largely to buy support from African leaders. While much of this money was held by government institutions like the Central Bank of Libya and the Libyan Investment Authority, Qaddafi was able to withdraw money at will. However, a couple of guys at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have found a way to duplicate –- sort of -– Superman's amazing feats. Two researchers at MIT's Lincoln Lab, John Peabody and Gregory Charvat, think they have a way around that, and it involves a system of signal amplifiers and radio wavelengths. The results could lead to a new kind of radar that offers real X-ray vision to soldiers in urban combat zones. To see through walls, you have to deal with the fact that solid objects absorb, scatter or reflect light and radio waves. This is why X-ray machines and radar work the way they do. When a doctor takes an X-ray image, the solid bone (and any metal you are carrying) shows up as bright white because other body parts, which are mostly water, allow X rays to pass through them, whereas bones and metal don't. Radar works by picking up reflected radio waves from (mostly) metal objects. A radar operator can "see" a plane from miles away because of the radio waves bouncing off it. In only a few short months, the Obama administration has presided over a vicious series of political assaults on medical marijuana patients and providers across the nation, carried out by numerous federal agencies. The situation just continues to get more ugly and insane from one week to the next: - Federal prosecutors have threatened to arrest state employees for administering state laws, resulting in stalled programs and reduced patient access.
- U.S. Attorneys in California recently revived the Bush era tactic of threatening to seize property from landlords who rent to medical marijuana facilities.

"On Friday, violence erupted during the Occupy Melbourne protests when about 400 police evicted demonstrators who had been camping in the city square for nearly a week," reports ABC in Sydney. "Victoria's Police Minister was forced to defend the behavior of officers after demonstrators called for the state's ombudsman to investigate 43 alleged cases of police violence on Friday, including eye-gouging, punching and the use of pepper spray on children." In the early morning hours of October 22, 2011, 14 Orlando Police patrol cars and an arrest van pulled up to Senator Beth Johnson Park in Downtown Orlando. They did not come to keep the peace or to serve and protect. They came to suppress the free speech and peaceable assembly rights of the Occupy Orlando movement by illegally arresting over 20 people who were peacefully demonstrating by sitting together in a circle and holding hands. This was done in direct, blatant violation of their First Amendment Rights. Shame and condemnation upon the Orlando PD, the City of Orlando, and on Mayor Buddy Dyer. "I can't sleep," she said and she was smart enough to also say, "my mind is racing". Over the nine years of her life so far she has probably heard me say that many times. Like when I was losing a home and I threw a chair and the police were called. The third time police had to be called on me in life (out of five). So I took her hand and we walked downstairs and she gave me a lecture on what was going on in each one of her classes and she concluded with a discussion of the various Greek gods ("Athena is my favorite," she said. "Who is yours. Hermes?") And then I saw her yawn and I said maybe now she can try to go back to sleep, which she did. I'm scared for her. My mind races also. How many times has my mind woken me up at midnight to remind me of how little money was in my bank account, or how many bills I had to pay, or how much I hated my job, or even hated being an entrepreneur with customers, clients, people screwing me, people hating me. I don't want her mind to wake her like that when she's older. It's the worst pain. And I might not be there then for her to talk to. Mishan al-Jbouri, a Sunni Iraqi lawmaker who has been residing in Syria since 1996 and a close friend of Gaddafi’s family, told Xinhua in an interview that the family of Gaddafi could instigate resistance against the NATO and the Libyan National Transitional Council (NTC). He said the family of Gaddafi is demanding an inquiry into his death, as well as the quick burial of his body in his Mediterranean coastal hometown of Sirte, the last bastion of resistance against the NATO-backed NTC fighters. “Although I’m a close friend of Gaddifi’s family, I wasn’t a fan of Gaddafi himself,” Jbouri said, “However, the way he was killed was gruesome.” On Friday, the United Nations human rights body called for an investigation into how Gaddafi was killed Thursday, after satellite TV channels broadcast a footage of Gaddafi being captured wounded but alive with blood stains on the face and then pushed by fighters onto a truck, and another video later emerged showing Gaddafi’s body on the lap of a fighter with a bullet hole in his forehead. Gaddafi, who had ruled Libya for 42 years, had governed the country with an outdated mentality, Jbouri said, suggesting that his tyranny and over self-confidence led himself to this end. “Unfortunately, Gaddafi made Libya at some point related to his character and desires,” Jbouri said. In a video statement carried recently by several official channels maintained by members of the hacker activist group "Anonymous," a digitally generated voice explains that the online collective has decided to take down the Fox News website on Nov. 5th of this year. The date, Nov. 5, is significant for its dramatic placement in the film and comic book "V for Vendetta," about a freedom-loving terrorist who destroys an authoritarian government that's come to power in the U.K. "Remember, remember the 5th of November," is his saying, hearkening back to the "Gunpowder plot" of 1604, in which the terrorist Guy Fawkes was captured and executed for his attempt to blow up Parliament. The mask used by the Guy Fawkes character in "V for Vendetta" has also become a ubiquitous symbol for "Anonymous." A new survey shows that Americans overwhelmingly support the self-styled Occupy Wall Street protests that not only have disrupted life in Lower Manhattan but also in Washington and cities and towns across the U.S. and in other nations. Some 59 percent of adults either completely agree or mostly agree with the protesters, while 31 percent mostly disagree or completely disagree; 10 percent of those surveyed didn’t know or refused to answer. What’s more, many people are paying attention to the rallies. Almost two-thirds of respondents–65 percent–said they’ve heard “a lot” or “some” about the rallies, while 35 percent have said they’ve heard or seen “not too much” or “nothing at all” about the demonstrations. The results appear in the latest edition of the United Technologies/National Journal Congressional Connection Poll. Professor of medicine and chief cardiologist at the Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Clyde Yancy stated that “achieving…simple lifestyle factors gives people a 90 per cent chance of living to the age of 90 or 100, free of not only heart disease and stroke but from a number of other chronic illnesses including cancer.” “We can compress life-threatening disease into the final stages of life and maintain quality of life for the longest possible time.” He predicts that, if we act now, we can reverse the tide by 2020,” said Yancy. According to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, every year in Canada about 250,000 potential years of life are lost due to heart disease and stroke, which are two of the three leading causes of death in Canada. Following simple steps can prevent disease and lead you to optimal health. 1. GET ACTIVE: Inactivity can shave almost four years off a person’s expected lifespan. People who are physically inactive are twice as likely to be at risk for heart disease or stroke. Fitness is a key ingredient in advancing your health. 2. GET RID OF PROCESSED AND GMO FOODS: Healthy eating is one of the most important things you can do to improve your health and that starts with omitting all processed foods which contain high sources of genetically modified ingredients. 3. FILTER YOUR WATER: Getting rid of toxic fluoride in your drinking water and obtaining a clean and pure source of water is imperative for optimal health. Educating yourself on how to drink tap water safely will go a long way in keeping you disease free. The National Transitional Council (NTC) had disquieted many outsiders by putting the bodies of Gaddafi and his son Mo'tassim on show in a meat locker in the coastal city of Misrata until their decay forced them on Monday to close the doors. Under pressure from Western allies, the NTC promised on Monday to investigate how Gaddafi and his son were killed — graphic mobile phone footage shows both alive after their capture. The former Libyan leader was seen being mocked and beaten before he was shot, in what NTC officials say was crossfire. The process leading to his burial is taking place now," NTC official Abdel Majid Mlegta told Reuters by telephone from Libya. "Only two trusted people were assigned to this secret mission. These are not guards, but very trusted NTC people." A major document from the Vatican’s Justice and Peace department should be music to the ears of the “Occupy Wall Street” demonstrators and similar movements around the world who have protested against the economic downturn. The 18-page document, “Towards Reforming the International Financial and Monetary Systems ain the Context of a Global Public Authority,” was at times very specific, calling, for example, for taxation measures on financial transactions. “The economic and financial crisis which the world is going through calls everyone, individuals and peoples, to examine in depth the principles and the cultural and moral values at the basis of social coexistence,” it said. Officials estimate as many as 6,000 dead birds have washed up on the Georgian Bay's shoreline. The carcasses are scattered along a nearly three-kilometre stretch near Wasaga Beach. "You just want to cry," resident Faye Ego told CTV Toronto on Saturday. Authorities speculate that the birds may have been killed by a form of botulism after eating dead fish. Locals said they noticed some dead fish on the beach a few weeks ago and a few dead birds earlier in September. During Monday's cleanup, crews will be trying to tally up the total number of dead birds on the shoreline … Read Entire Article HERE | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | NaturalSociety Men who are chronically stressed due to life events or other factors could have a 50% higher mortality rate than those who are not stressed, according to a new study. The study was the first of its kind to document the effects of major stressors over a long period of time, such as the death of a spouse or placing a parent into a retirement home. While the study did find that stress has a considerable negative impact on longevity, there were protective factors that helped to negate the effects. Participants who reported to be healthy tended to live longer, as well as married men. Researchers found these characteristics to be protective against stress-induced mortality, highlighting the power of optimum health and emotional stability. Of course while the study found many factors that can protect you, they also found many factors that further increased the risk of death: "Being a teetotaler and a smoker were risk factors for mortality," said Carolyn Aldwin, lead author of the study and a professor of human development and family sciences at Oregon State University. "So perhaps trying to keep your major stress events to a minimum, being married and having a glass of wine every night is the secret to a long life." An analysis of the relationships between 43,000 transnational corporations has identified a relatively small group of companies, mainly banks, with disproportionate power over the global economy. The study's assumptions have attracted some criticism, but complex systems analysts contacted by New Scientist say it is a unique effort to untangle control in the global economy. Pushing the analysis further, they say, could help to identify ways of making global capitalism more stable. The idea that a few bankers control a large chunk of the global economy might not seem like news to New York's Occupy Wall Street movement and protesters elsewhere (see photo). But the study, by a trio of complex systems theorists at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, is the first to go beyond ideology to empirically identify such a network of power. It combines the mathematics long used to model natural systems with comprehensive corporate data to map ownership among the world's transnational corporations (TNCs). "Reality is so complex, we must move away from dogma, whether it's conspiracy theories or free-market," says James Glattfelder. "Our analysis is reality-based."… Read Entire Article HERE | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
